Made in the USA

Today I had the opportunity, and privilege, to have a private tour of the York Wallcovering factory in York PA.  York Wallcoverings has been in business since 1895, and the equipment pictured is almost, if not that old.  I was surprised to find out that the process of creating the “wet on wet”  patterns that look hand painted, and also the rotary screen printed pattern shown, can only be produced with the guidance of skilled craftsmen on this historic machinery.  The color line, much of it hand mixed, and attention to detail produces a crafted result.  York’s unique wallpaper is wildly popular in China, one of York’s many high volume clients.  The breadth of the York collection, including appliques, can be seen at yorkwall.com.  Of course Interiors Inc would be happy to help you make your selection!

This "wet on wet" process results in a paper that looks hand painted.
